Six years ago we hosted the very first National High School Fishing Championship on Sam Rayburn Lake. The event attracted student anglers from Texas and surrounding States to Deep East Texas and helped to launch us as the number one high school fishing lake in America. Five years ago we renamed the tournament to honor our Texas Fallen Heroes for their service and ultimate sacrifice in the war on terror. This year we are proud to announce The 2021 Texas Fallen Heroes Youth Open Fishing Championship will take place on March 6, 2021. Every high school and youth team from 5th to twelfth grade is welcome.

As local community leaders and early supporters of organized high school fishing we believe in the power of this simple family oriented  activity to teach the finest values to our children and pass on to them the appreciation of our precious natural resources and the price paid for the freedom to enjoy them. Please join us with family and friends to remember those who were willing to sacrifice everything to protect the freedom and liberty that we freely enjoy.

We had a great 2021 Texas Fallen Heroes Youth Fishing Championship. The event was an American Red, White and Blue celebration and remembrance with each participant being presented a set of dog tags from our Texas Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall that was on display for the entire weekend. Many families of our fallen heroes were notified that their loved one was remembered by name and honored on this very special weekend.
